We have through our various specialist teams access to the latest trends and market transactions whether that be in the sale of a chain health and fitness clubs to the value of individual items of heavy plant etc. The firm over a long period of time, has developed a large database of potential purchasers, which allows us to carry out effective early target marketing.

Our dedicated teams act for companies, owners, financial institutions and accountants, offering a Partner led professional and pro active service in order to maximise the return from the sale of the trading entity

Assetwise

In a world where the business market is constantly changing with new technologies and market trends, it is important, that decisions are made with impartial well informed advice to ensure the correct strategy is provided.

Assetwise

Over many years Edward Symmons & Partners have developed a group of property teams who can advise on the value of a trading entitys various freehold and leasehold property assets including offices, factories, warehouses, dockyards or retail etc.

In addition teams in our nationwide Hospitality Division have the in depth knowledge to value a wide range of specialist properties including Hotels, Golf Clubs, Restaurants, Licensed premises, Nightclubs, Health & Fitness clubs and Nursing Homes etc.

Assetwise

We are uniquely also able to advise on the widest possible range of plant and machinery with a team of chattel valuers located across the country enabling us to react quickly and use our local knowledge of current markets and conditions to provide the appropriate advice. Further we have stock specialists who can carry out a detailed analysis of a companys trading stocks on a product by product basis if required.

Edward Symmons and Partners have over the last few years developed an understanding and knowledge on the methods of appraisal and valuation of Intellectual Property Rights including software, trade names, patents and goodwill etc. These Intangible Assets are often overlooked but from our experience can have a major value if marketed correctly as part of the business.

Assetwise

For a business to be sold the exposure it is given to the market is critical, Edward Symmons and Partners have the knowledge to advise on the appropriate international, trade and local publications in which to advertise the business for sale. The marketing can also include press releases and articles etc as part of an agreed strategy.

In addition we have over the years developed our own extensive internet database of potential purchasers categorised by types of businesses etc. These parties will be targeted where appropriate by direct marketing of the relevant business opportunity.

We provide eye catching, high quality in house publicity material in the form of a sales memorandum. This will include a brief synopsis of the business, its property interests, schedules of chattel assets, the trading history, details of any intellectual property assets, patents, current order books, copies of accounts both audited and recent management versions where available.

We recognise that confidentiality is an important issue to ensure that the detailed business information provided is not used incorrectly by a potential purchaser and therefore insist where appropriate that a Confidentiality Agreement is signed and returned before a sales memorandum is sent to a potential purchaser.

All enquiries are followed up to establish their level of interest and meetings arranged with all interested parties. It is our policy to supervise all on site meetings.

Following the negotiation process and on receipt of an acceptable offer, instructions would be obtained from our client to accept the offer for the trading entity. We would then prepare heads of terms, and would forward this to the clients and purchasers solicitors so that the necessary contract can be prepared. We would also forward schedules of the assets IPR etc to our clients solicitors to include in the contract.

The due diligence phase of a business sale is crucial and we have considerable expertise in this area thus helping ensure a successful sale

In addition should the business involve trading stocks then Edward Symmons can organise and supervise a stock take on the day of sale.

Should a purchaser require assistance in funding the acquisition then Edward Symmons can introduce a wide range of Finance Houses to cover both pure property funding; asset based and stock funding etc.
