Nick Boyd becomes Senior Partner while Paul Proctor moves to the newly-created role of Chairman

Leading firm of property and asset consultants, Edward Symmons, has appointed Nick Boyd as its new Senior Partner, while current Senior Partner, Paul Proctor, moves to the newly created role of Chairman. The new senior management structure looks to the future and has been introduced as part of the firm’s continuing commitment for nationwide growth.
As Senior Partner, Nick Boyd will take over responsibility for the firm’s operational management and leadership. In the new role of Chairman, Paul Proctor will handle responsibility for client development and market direction. Both roles will focus on business strategy, growing Edward Symmons’ enviable client base and looking for further opportunities to strengthen and expand the firm’s niche specialisms.
Boyd is currently a member of the Executive Board and Head of the firm’s Healthcare, Hospitality and Leisure Division. He has overseen the growth of this national team which recently completed the sale of Glenside Neurological Rehabilitation Hospital, the largest single asset healthcare transaction in the UK for a number of years.
Over the last eight years, Proctor has led the 200 strong practice in significant growth. The business is now firmly established as a niche service provider to the banking and recovery markets. He has also helped form a unique Collateral Review and Valuation team for the Asset Based Lending market and has supported the development of a major online auction service.
“In the eight years since I became Senior Partner the firm has increased turnover year on year to a current level of £17 million”, commented Proctor. “Staff has increased to more than 200 across our nine UK offices and the role of Senior Partner has therefore grown accordingly. This new management structure is the right platform to take us to the next level. I look forward to working with Nick to develop further our Blue Chip client base within our six specialist divisions.”
