Edward Symmons appointed on trio of LPA cases with a view to sale and change of use
Edward Symmons has been appointed as Joint LPA receiver on a trio of properties with existing or anticipated opportunities for change of use for potential purchasers.
Date of Press Release: 20|5|2011
“The Bull in the Barne”, a pub with panoramic views within a Georgian terrace in Shrewsbury and “Naughty Nells”, a sixteenth century coaching inn in Shifnal, are being marketed for sale at £225,000 and £400,000 respectively. The asking prices are reflective of the fact that “Naughty Nells” has an existing consent in place for residential conversion.
The third received property, Holmwood in Church Stretton, a residential property that has previously operated as a residential care home and as an office, is on the market for £450,000.
Andrew Vaughan, the registered LPA Receiver managing all three cases, is head of the Birmingham office of Edward Symmons. He comments: “Like in many other regions, pubs in this part of the country are encountering difficult trading conditions, leading to a number of business failures. The opportunity for change of use to residential accommodation is a real, and potentially very profitable, solution for these properties and we anticipate that towns in this area may see significant change in their commercial property make-up as a result.”
